Azad Jammu and Kashmir police have refuted claimed that security forces launched crackdown and shelling on the participants of Rawalakot sit-in on Saturday, reported 24NewsHD TV Channel.

According to a press statement released by AJK Police, several social media accounts were unleashing fake campaign claims that forces have resorted to shelling and firing on the participants of Darek Eidgah sit-in. Police said this narrative is misleading and not based on facts as no action was taken against the sit-in.

AJK Police spokesperson stated that miscreants associated with the proscribed Awami Action Committee were using old videos to incite public unrest and undermine public confidence in state and law enforcement agencies.

Police claimed that the Public Action Committee was resorting to malicious campaign against the security forces after losing credibility and the public's lack of interest at the Darek sit-in site.

AJK police appealed all peace-loving citizens and social media users to act responsibly and with restraint, prioritizing the national interest and verify any news or video before sharing it and rely only on information from authentic sources. Avoid becoming part of any misleading, hateful, or inflammatory campaign.
