Pakistani actress and television host Mishi Khan has strongly reacted to remarks attributed to Naeem Bukhari about elderly parents, saying such views should never be promoted in society.

Taking to social media, Mishi shared a video expressing her disappointment after watching a viral clip in which Naeem Bukhari appeared to describe elderly parents as a burden. Referring to the clip, she said she was shocked and questioned how anyone could hold such a view.

Mishi argued that parents should never be seen as a burden, saying millions of people across Pakistan lovingly care for, respect and support their ageing mothers and fathers.

She stressed that looking after parents is a responsibility embraced with pride and should always be treated with honour rather than inconvenience.

The actress also criticised what she described as a harmful mindset, saying education and intelligence should be reflected through compassion and respect for elders.

According to Mishi, promoting the idea that elderly parents are a burden could contribute to negative attitudes and encourage the growing culture of old-age homes.

During the video, Mishi also objected to what she believed was a mocking tone while discussing senior citizens.

She said making fun of elderly people should never be presented as humour and urged people to show greater empathy, kindness and dignity toward older generations.

Concluding her message, Mishi said she could not support such views and called for greater respect in conversations about parents and family values.
