Pakistan is expected to host the next round of high-level talks between the United States and Iran on July 11, according to a report by Al Arabiya TV, although no official confirmation has yet been issued by the governments involved.
The report said the proposed negotiations will focus on several critical issues that have long defined relations between Washington and Tehran, including US sanctions on Iran, the release of Iranian frozen assets and Tehran's nuclear programme.
According to Al Arabiya, the Iranian delegation for the talks has not yet been finalized. The report stated that a decision on who will head Iran's negotiating team will be taken after the funeral of the country's Supreme Leader, Ayatollah Ali Khamenei.
It added that a formal announcement regarding the composition of the Iranian delegation is expected once the funeral proceedings are completed.
If the talks go ahead as reported, Pakistan would serve as the venue for another significant round of diplomatic engagement between the two countries, with discussions aimed at addressing key political and economic disputes.
However, neither Pakistan nor the United States and Iran have officially confirmed the reported date or venue of the meeting, and further details are awaited.
