The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) and Abbottabad University of Science and Technology (AUST) on Saturday signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) to establish a high-performance cricket centre in Abbottabad, 4NewsHD TV reported.
Under the agreement, Abbottabad University will provide land for the construction of a cricket ground, while the PCB will develop the facility over the next 25 years.
The board will construct the ground with match and practice pitches, a pavilion, and domestic cricket-standard infrastructure, facilities, and machinery.
The university will also provide free accommodation and mess facilities for players and coaches using the centre.
The PCB will use the ground throughout the year for regional training camps and Regional Academy activities.
The project is expected to benefit Under-15, school, first-class and other cricketers from the Abbottabad region by providing access to modern training facilities and creating new opportunities for talent development.
PCB Senior Manager Osama Sharon and officials of Abbottabad University of Science and Technology signed the MoU.
Speaking at the signing ceremony, Osama Sharon said the project would be a significant boost for young cricketers in the Abbottabad region, helping nurture local talent and supporting their progression to the national level.
