Punjab Information Minister Azma Bukhari has dismissed claims that Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) founder Imran Khan and his wife, Bushra Bibi, are being denied food in jail.
Calling the allegations baseless, she stated that both are being provided meals as per routine, the 24NewsHD TV channel reported on Tuesday.
In a sharp remark, she questioned, "How can someone [Imran Khan] who wakes up at noon keep a fast?"
She further detailed that Imran Khan is given meat, vegetables, lentils, and beetroot juice three times a week. Additionally, he has access to coffee, boiled eggs, and dried fruits.
Regarding Bushra Bibi, Azma Bukhari clarified that she is provided with whatever food she desires.
Taking a dig at PTI’s claims, she mocked that a person sitting in Peshawar dreamt about Imran Khan being deprived of food, while just two days ago, PTI’s spokesperson falsely claimed that the former premier was unwell in jail.
Azma Bukhari also revealed that a team of four senior doctors from PIMS conducted a detailed medical examination of Imran Khan, declaring him completely healthy.
She accused PTI of resorting to sympathy-seeking tactics whenever they run out of political strategies.
