Rumors of their separation began swirling after Sunita revealed in an interview that she and the Bollywood star were living apart. In a previous conversation with Hindi Rush, she jokingly lamented Govinda's lack of romance, saying, “I have told him that in my next life, he should not be my husband. He never takes me on holidays. I love going out, eating street food, but he was always busy with work. I don’t even remember watching a movie together.”
A report from ETimes claimed that Sunita had sent a separation notice months ago, though no legal action followed. Later, Govinda’s lawyer confirmed that she had filed for divorce six months ago, but the couple has since reconciled.
