One bogie of Karachi-bound Allama Iqbal Express was derailed at Wazirabad Railway Station on Tuesday, reported 24NewsHD TV channel.
According to details, the incident occurred when the train was heading towards Karachi from Wazirabad Railway Station’s washing line. The train was scheduled to depart for Karachi via Sialkot at 5.15 am.
Pakistan Railways sources said that traffic on railway track will be restored within one hour. After completion of repairing work, the train will depart via Sialkot for Karachi.
Railway officials said that work on restoring normal railway traffic is in full swing.
Earlier on February 14, 2025, bogie of freight train which was en route to Khanewal from Shaheenabad was derailed at Shorkot Cantonment Railway Station, but escaped a major disaster.
Due to the derailment, Pakistan Express which was destined for Rawalpindi was stopped at Abdul Hakeem Railway Station.
Passengers of Millat Express and Pakistan Express were facing lot of difficulties due to train’s derailment.
Later, officials of Pakistan Railways said that repair work of the railway track is already underway and rail traffic will be restored soon.
