The Federal Investigation Agency (FIA) director general on Wednesday removed the deputy director of the Anti-Corruption Circle from his post, according to sources.
Sources said FIA Deputy Director Afzal Niazi has been transferred to FIA headquarters, while Faizan Mir has been appointed the new Deputy Director Anti-Corruption. Faizan Mir has previously served in the Islamabad zone.
The former deputy director was reportedly removed due to poor performance and multiple complaints. Sources revealed that the FIA director general has initiated scrutiny of other officers within the organization as part of broader accountability measures.
The developments are also said to be linked to recent directives regarding medical fitness, uniforms and related administrative orders. It is worth noting that all FIA officers have recently undergone fresh medical examinations as part of the internal review process.
