Karachi Kings pulled off a stunning four-wicket victory over arch-rivals Lahore Qalandars, thanks to a fearless and match-winning knock by Irfan Khan Niazi.

The young batter’s explosive innings of 48 runs off just 21 balls turned the tide in Karachi’s favor in the dying moments of the match.

Chasing a revised target of 168 runs, Karachi Kings achieved the win with just three balls to spare. Irfan Khan's heroic batting performance under pressure earned him accolades, as he guided his team to a memorable win after the game had swung back and forth.

Earlier in the innings, Karachi's top order laid a solid foundation. Saad Baig contributed 25 runs, while Tim Seifert and David Warner added valuable 24 runs each to keep the chase on track.

The match, however, was not without its challenges, especially after a rain interruption added to the drama.

Lahore Qalandars were off to a flying start, racing to 90 for 1 in just 7.5 overs when the match was halted due to rain.

At that point, it seemed Lahore were on course for a massive total.

But after the break, Karachi Kings’ bowlers made an excellent comeback, restricting Lahore’s scoring momentum.

Apart from their top three batters, none of the Lahore players managed to reach double figures post-rain.

For Lahore, Haris Rauf was the most successful bowler, picking up two wickets, while Daryl Mitchell, Asif Afridi, and Rashad Hussain claimed one wicket each.

Earlier, Fakhar Zaman and Muhammad Naeem's fifties propelled Lahore Qalandars to post a competitive total of 160 runs for the loss of 8 wickets in a match reduced to 15 overs per side.

The match had to be halted midway due to rain when Lahore Qalandars were cruising at 90 for 1 in just 7.5 overs. Karachi Kings were given a target of 168 runs under the Duckworth-Lewis method.

At that point, the momentum was heavily in favor of the Qalandars, with their top-order batters in aggressive form.

Mohammad Naeem stood out with a scintillating knock of 65 runs, anchoring the innings with flair and confidence. He was well supported by veteran opener Fakhar Zaman, who contributed a solid 51 runs.

However, after the rain break, the momentum shifted.

Karachi Kings’ bowlers made a remarkable comeback post-resumption.

Abbas Afridi was the pick of the bowlers, taking 3 wickets for just 27 runs, while Mir Hamza, Aamer Jamal, and Hasan Ali chipped in with one wicket apiece.
