First Lady and Member of National Assembly Aseefa Bhutto Zardari and Pakistan People’s Party (PPP) Women’s Wing Central President Faryal Talpur chaired a high-level party meeting at Zardari House Sunday to finalize preparations for an upcoming public rally in Shaheed Benazirabad on May 9.
Key party leaders including PPP Sindh President Nisar Khuhro, General Secretary Waqar Mehdi, and Information Secretary Ajiz Dhamra were in attendance, along with several provincial ministers such as Dr. Azra Fazal Pechuho, Zia Lanjar, Haji Ali Hassan Zardari, and Shahid Abdul Salam Thahim.
The meeting reviewed the country’s evolving political landscape and discussed the PPP’s public outreach campaign in Sindh. Attendees presented proposals regarding the organization and logistics of the May 9 gathering in Nawabshah, which is expected to draw large crowds.
Aseefa Bhutto Zardari and Faryal Talpur issued key directives to Members of Parliament, local government representatives, and party office-bearers to ensure widespread participation and effective mobilization across all cities of Shaheed Benazirabad district. The leadership emphasized full-scale coordination to guarantee a successful and impactful event.
The rally will also feature an important and “historic” address by PPP Chairman Bilawal Bhutto Zardari, while Aseefa Bhutto Zardari and Faryal Talpur are set to engage directly with the attendees.
A wide range of lawmakers attended the meeting, including National Assembly members Syed Ghulam Mustafa Shah, Syed Abrar Shah, Zulfiqar Ali Behan, and Salahuddin Junejo. Sindh Assembly members present included Sohail Sial, Ghulam Qadir Chandio, Dr. Bahadur Dahri, Javed Iqbal Arain, and others.
Senior party figures such as Shagufta Jumani, Dr. Mehreen Bhutto, Javed Nayab Leghari, Mansoor Shahani, Dr. Lal Chand Ikrani, and Qazi Rashid Bhatti also took part in the session, reflecting the significance of the upcoming political show of strength.
