Former Pakistan opening batsman and Test cricketer Sadiq Mohammad celebrated his 81st birthday, marking another milestone in the life of one of Pakistan’s most respected cricketing figures.
Born on May 3, 1945, in Junagadh, India, Sadiq is part of Pakistan’s legendary cricketing dynasty. He is the youngest of the famous Mohammad brothers—Raees Mohammad, Hanif Mohammad, Mushtaq Mohammad, and Wazir Mohammad—all of whom played pivotal roles in shaping Pakistan’s cricketing history.
He represented Pakistan in 41 Tests, scoring 2,579 runs with 5 centuries and 10 half-centuries, including a highest score of 166. He was a prolific run-scorer with 24,160 runs in 387 matches, recording 50 centuries and 121 fifties, with a top score of 203 as a fielder he claimed 326 catches in first-class cricket, underlining his all-round contribution to the game.
