Lollywood star Mehwish Hayat celebrated a groundbreaking moment for Pakistan’s women’s football, applauding the team’s historic achievement on the global stage.
Taking to Instagram, the actress shared a powerful message honoring the Pakistan Women’s National Football Team after their remarkable performance at the FIFA Series 2026.
Congratulating the squad, she wrote: “Congratulations to our girls making history. This is what happens when talent finally gets the stage it deserves. May this open more doors for every young girl with a dream. PAKISTAN ZINDABAD.”
The tribute came following the team’s emphatic 8–0 victory over Turks and Caicos Islands in Côte d'Ivoire marking the largest international win in the team’s history. The tournament also represented a significant milestone, as it was the first time a senior Pakistani football squad, men’s or women’s, competed in a global FIFA series.
Mehwish not only celebrated the win but also used the moment to advocate for stronger infrastructure and “real support” for football in Pakistan across both women’s and men’s divisions. Her message underscored the importance of providing equal opportunities and platforms for emerging talent.
Beyond her on-screen success, Mehwish Hayat continues to make an impact off-screen as well. The actress is set to reunite with Fahad Mustafa in Pakistan’s first major zombie-themed survival thriller, directed by Nabeel Qureshi.
She is also actively involved in philanthropy as a brand ambassador for Penny Appeal, working to rebuild schools in Sukkur, Sindh.
Additionally, she is preparing to launch the Women’s Leadership Exchange, a global initiative aimed at addressing key challenges faced by women.
