Minister of State for Education Wajiha Qamar met newly appointed UNESCO Director-General Khalid Al-Anani on the sidelines of the 43rd UNESCO General Conference in Samarkand.
During the meeting, Wajiha congratulated Al-Anani on assuming office and extended Pakistan’s good wishes and full cooperation. She emphasized Pakistan’s interest in strengthening collaboration with UNESCO in the fields of education, culture and science.
Appreciating Pakistan’s constructive role in UNESCO programs, Khalid Al-Anani highlighted the importance of continued engagement between the country and the organization.
Both sides agreed to enhance educational and cultural cooperation, with a particular focus on joint initiatives aligned with the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).
The meeting underscored Pakistan’s commitment to promoting global partnerships in education and culture, reinforcing its proactive role within the UNESCO framework.
