With 217 AQI, Lahore emerges as most polluted city in world

Pollution has again raised its head in Lahore as the air quality index (AQI) in the city was recorded at 217 on Saturday, making it the most polluted city in the world, reported 24NewsHD TV channel. 

At several places, the air quality was worse as it exceeded the 300 mark. 

It was recorded at 316 at Multan Road, 286 at Adda Plot, 261 at Shalimar Town, 258 at Paragon City, 247 at Syed Maratab Ali Road, and 243 at Bedian Road.  

On the other hand, health experts have advised people to take precautionary measures. 

Meanwhile, the Met Office on Saturday forecast partly cloudy weather for the city, with 40 to 80 per cent chances of rain.

It further said that the maximum temperature in the city would go up to 33 degrees Celsius while it would remain 23 degrees Celsius on the minimum side.  

The level of humidity in the air was recorded at 71 per cent in the morning, while the breeze was blowing at a speed of five kilometers per hour.
