Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz visited has reached Chung flood relief camp to express solidarity with the victims, reported 24NewsHDTV Channel.
Punjab Chief Minister held detailed discussion with the victims families as well as children in temporary classroom.
On the occasion Maryam Nawaz asked various questions to the children. Young Anamta hugged Chief Minister Maryam to express her gratitude for receiving gifts. CM Maryam Nawaz Sharif expressed happiness after seeing her interest in the book.
ON the occasion, CM ordered immediate treatment of persons suffering from eyes infection. Chief Minister directed health screening of all children residing in flood relief camps. CM Maryam Nawaz presented gifts to women and children residing in flood camps. Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz Sharif assures of steps for rehabilitation of flood victims. “We are reviewing the water situation. Will also help in building houses”, said Maryam Nawaz.

The Chief Minister Sharif reviewed the available medicine, ECG, X-ray and other facilities. She was told that 3,000 flood victims were staying at Government Girls High School, Chung.
The victims of Theme Park, Barkat Colony, Manzoor Park and other areas are staying at Flood Relief Camp. Food, mineral water, milk packs, biscuits are provided in the flood relief camp. Dust bins and WASA staff are present for cleaning. Doctors and medical staff are present 24/7 for the treatment and health of flood victims.
Punjab government orders survey to assess damages in flood-affected areas
Punjab government has ordered to conduct a survey for assessing damages in flood-affected areas and decided to hire Pakistan army for survey.
According to the details, the district administration will identify the affected villages and estimate the resources and joint teams of Provincial Disaster Management Authority (PDMA), Urban Unit and District Administration will be formed. PDMA will supervise the survey in Punjab, a target of completing a door-to-door survey of approximately 1,700 affected villages in a month will be set and more staff will be recruited for the survey.
According to the details, a district-wise list of damages will be prepared to ensure transparent relief and rehabilitation. A complaint cell will be established in each Assistant Commissioner office and the victims will be able to file complaints directly. The financial assistance to affected families will be paid through campsites and they will be informed about the payment through SMS alerts. The camp sites will be setup at district headquarters, schools and other safe locations
