Pronouncing a reserved decision, an anti-terrorism court (ATC) in Lahore on Thursday accepted the bail application of Shershah, the nephew of former prime minister and PTI founder Imran Khan, in a Jinnah House attack case against a surety bond of Rs100,000, reported 24NewsHD TV channel.

ATC judge Manzar Ali Gill pronounced the verdict.

Earlier, counsels for Shershah, Rana Mudassir Umar and Adnan, gave their arguments.

In his arguments, Advocate Muadassir said that his client was the son of Imran Khan’s sister Aleema Khan. “The fact is that so far, even the case’s challan has not been presented in the court,” he said, adding, “God knows when the trial will begin. My client cannot be kept in jail for an indefinite time period.”

Besides that, the lawyer went on to say, there was no proof against Sher. “He was not involved in any riots. Those against whom there were more serious charges than my client have already been granted bail.”

Aleema Khan and PTI leaders were present on the occasion.

The Lahore Police had arrested Shershah from outside his home on August 22.

He was then sent on a five-day physical remand and later on August 28 to jail for 14 days.

Today’s development comes a day after Shershah’s brother, Shahrez Khan, was also granted bail in a similar case.
