Deputy Director Meteorological Department Irfan Virk said on Thursday that three to four more monsoon spells are expected to enter the country in September, reported 24NewsHD TV channel.

Talking exclusively to the 24News TV channel, he said above-average rainfall was expected in north-eastern Punjab, Potohar belt of the Punjab, Islamabad and southern Kashmir during the month.

“Besides that, above-average rainfall is also likely to be recorded in south-eastern Sindh,” he said, and added, “However, there would be normal rainfall in the rest of the country.”

Virk informed that no new spell was expected to affect the upper parts of the country during the next few days.

“However, after three to four days, a monsoon low will enter Sindh, which will produce rains in most parts of the province,” he explained.
