The National Disaster Management Authority (NDMA) said on Thursday that since June 1, 2025, 38 people had died in Azad Jammu and Kashmir (AJK) in monsoon rains-related incidents, while 31 had been injured, 2,278 homes had been affected, 60 shops had been destroyed and 238 animals had perished, reported 24NewsHD TV channel.
In its report, the NDMA said that 12 people were killed, one was injured while over 125 homes were affected in the capital Muzaffarabad.
Similarly, one death was reported from Jhelum Valley, while 21 homes were completely destroyed, and 124 were partially damaged, the NDMA said.
In Neelum Valley, seven people were killed and 180 cattle perished.
Likewise, the Authority informed that three people were killed in district Bagh, while 28 houses were completely destroyed, and 109 were partially damaged.
One person died in Poonch, it said, adding 102 houses were completely destroyed in the area, while 392 were partially damaged.
Similarly, one fatality was reported from Sadhnoti, while 67 houses were completely destroyed and 413 were partially damaged.
Six people died in Haveli, said the report, adding 34 houses were completely destroyed in the area while partial damage was caused to 456 others.
The report informed that three people died in Kotli, while 25 homes were completely destroyed, and 310 were partially damaged.
Two fatalities were reported from Bhimber, where 47 homes were damaged.
Two deaths were reported from Mirpur, while nine houses were completely destroyed in the area.
The NDMA disclosed that in all, 26 power houses were affected, while 100 kilometers of road and 79 bridges were damaged.
The report went on to say that 124 drinking water supply schemes were also affected.
