Former prime minister and PTI Chairman Imran Khan will not appear before the Joint Investigation Team formed to probe cases against the leaders of Pakistan Tehreek-i-Insaf, reported 24NewsHD TV channel on Wednesday.
The JIT has summoned the PTI chairman at the CCPO Office in Lahore at 1pm on Wednesday.
But according to sources in the PTI, Imran will not appear before the investigation team. His lawyers will explain his point of view before the JIT sleuths.
The JIT was formed by the government to probe the cases registered against the PTI chief and other party leasers including Fawad Chaudhry, Asad Umar Hammad Azhar, Ejaz Chaudhry, Musarrat Cheema, Farrukh Habib and others over vandalism and attacks on police.
The PTI leaders were booked at Civil Lines, Shadman and Race Course police stations.
It bears mentioning that only Umar appeared before the JIT after being summoned, while other PTI leaders did not turn up.
