Record increase in the generation of electricity through solar energy has reduced demand for electricity in the areas covered by the Lahore Electric Supply Company (LESCO) to 680 megawatts only, reported 24NewsHD TV channel.
Resultantly, 300 megawatts of surplus electricity has been recorded in these areas, while marked reduction in demand has also led to fears that the system frequency might be down.
It has emerged that power production through solar energy has increased in recent days due to increase in daytime temperatures as the summer season is approaching.
