Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) Chairman Barrister Gohar Ali Khan said on Tuesday that jailed former prime minister Imran Khan was ready for talks with the government, but within the constitutional limits.

Addressing a rally in the Buner district of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Gohar said that people in every nook and corner of Pakistan were raising their voice for Khan’s release. He said that arrests could not stop the PTI. He said the PTI did not believe in violence and extremism in politics. Gohar called upon the government to find a way out of the prevailing situation instead of blocking the roads.

The PTI chairman said his party would respect the institutions, but no institution is above the parliament. He said the parliament was being weakened by punishing serious people. He said that institutions were losing the public’s respect. He said that former First Lady Bushra Bibi has been in jail since January 17, but her case has not been heard until now.

Gohar said that people were raising questions about the independence of the judiciary therefore the chief justice of Pakistan should take notice of the prevailing situation. He said that delay in delivery of justice destroys a society. He said there would be chaos everywhere without justice.

He said that Imran Khan’s case should be heard as the nation was unanimously calling for his release. He said that political solutions would have to be found to bring the country on the path of progress.
