In a significant legal development for Malik Riaz of Bahria Town, the Islamabad High Court (IHC) on Tuesday ruled that the auction of properties in the housing society by the National Accountability Bureau (NAB) was legal and in public interest, reported by 24NewsHD TV channel.

Sources told the 24News TV channel that the court rejected all four petitions filed by the Bahria Town, seeking a halt to the auction of properties.

They informed that the NAB would auction properties in Bahria Town on August 7.

Sources disclosed that two corporate offices in Phase II of Bahria Town were included in the list of properties to be auctioned.

Similarly, they informed that Rubaish Marquee and lawn in Bahria Garden City, Arena Cinema in Phase IV and the building of Bahria International School in Safari Villas were among the properties to be auctioned.

Likewise, Safari Club situated in Plot number 27 would also be auctioned, sources told.

A two-member bench of the IHC, headed by the chief justice, had reserved the verdict on the petitions on Monday.

Eminent lawyer Farooq H. Naek represented Bahria Town, while Muhammad Rafay Maqsood represented the NAB.
