Punjab Education Foundation (POF) notified new standard operating procedures (SOPs) for partner schools in the province, reported 24NewsHD TV channel on Tuesday.
According to the newly-issued SOPs, all middle and secondary schools in the province will have to appoint a separate female teacher for female students and a male teacher for male students.
These schools were asked to appoint security guards and install CCTV cameras immediately to ensure a safe and secure environment for students and teachers.
The new SOPs stated that connections between teaching staff and students must be discouraged, and students are not to be bound to stay in the school premises without any solid reason.
A separate area must be designated for parents who want to pick up students. PEF officials said that strict action will be taken against schools with license holders whose administration fails to follow these SOPS or is found to be involved in any objectionable activity.
