The leadership of Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) and Jamiat Ulema-e-Islam (F) have decided to contest the upcoming general elections jointly along with other like-minded in Sindh, Balochistan and Khyber Pakhtunkhwa provinces, reported the 24NewsHD TV channel.
According to insiders, the meeting between Maulana Fazl Rehman and Mian Nawaz Sharif remained successful. Both leaders decided to opt for a comprehensive election strategy in Sindh ahead of the general elections.
The collaboration between PML-N and JUI-F expands beyond Sindh, with complete seat adjustments agreed upon in Balochistan and Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.
According to the sources, both parties' heads agreed to forge an electoral alliance to participate in the upcoming polls of provincial and national assembly seats of Sindh province along with MQM.
Earlier, Pakistan Democratic Movement (PDM) chief Maulana Fazlur Rehman called on Nawaz Sharif at the PML-N central secretariat.
Former prime ministers Muhammad Nawaz Sharif and Shehbaz Sharif along with other party leaders welcomed Maulana Fazlur Rehman.
The leaders consulted on political cooperation and discussed the overall political situation in the country.
Nawaz Sharif took Maulana Fazlur Rehman into confidence on the electoral agreement reached between Muslim League-N and MQM.
PML-N Senior Vice President and Chief Organizer Maryam Nawaz Sharif, Senator Ishaq Dar, Ahsan Iqbal, Khawaja Saad Rafiq, Maryam Aurangzeb, and other leaders were also present in the meeting.
Khawaja Saad Rafique briefed the assembly about the political negotiations with the Muttahida Qaumi Movement (MQM) in Sindh.
Both parties extensively consulted on the approved nationwide municipal system of MQM, with plans to introduce constitutional amendments in the upcoming parliament.
The meeting was briefed that the decision to field the candidates in Sindh will be made by PML-N Sindh President Bashir Memon, JUI-F Secretary Rashid Soomro, and nominated leaders of MQM:
