Opposition Leader in the Azad Kashmir Legislative Assembly Shah Ghulam Qadir has sent a letter to AJK Prime Minister for the appointment of the Chief Election Commissioner.
Opposition leader demanded immediate appointment of election staff as permanent staff has not yet been appointed for more than 450 polling stations. He said due to lack of timely appointments, there were chances of delay in electoral staffs training.
Shah Ghulam Qadir said that due to non-appointment of Chief Election Commissioner raises questions over transparency of 2026 general elections in AJK.
He demanded immediate recruitment and training of election staff, adding that delay in election preparations a threat to elections.
