The International Cricket Council on Monday unveiled the shortlist for the Men’s Player of the Month award for November, featuring standout performers from South Africa, Bangladesh, and Pakistan, 24NewsHD TV channel reported.
South Africa’s seasoned off-spinner Simon Harmer leads the nominations after a remarkable Test series against India, where he claimed 17 wickets and guided the Proteas to their first Test series victory on Indian soil in 25 years.
Harmer was nearly unplayable in the Kolkata and Guwahati Tests, finishing the series with an exceptional average of 8.94. His match-defining 6 for 37 earned him the Player of the Series honour, cementing his status as one of the month’s top performers.
Bangladesh’s Taijul Islam also earned a nomination following his dominant display in the Test series against Ireland. The left-arm spinner took 13 wickets and played a pivotal role in Bangladesh’s 2–0 sweep, performances that saw him named Player of the Series.
Pakistan’s Mohammad Nawaz completes the trio of nominees after a prolific run across formats. He delivered consistent all-round performances in the ODI tri-series, scoring 104 runs and taking four wickets, before following up with 11 wickets and 52 runs in T20 matches.
Mohammad Nawaz’s most decisive contribution came in the final match against Sri Lanka, where his 3 for 17 sealed victory for Pakistan and earned him the Player of the Series title. The ICC will announce the winner next week.
