The Punjab health department has constituted a five-member committee to address technical issues related to the procurement of cryoablation machines used in cancer treatment, 24News HD TV reported on Friday.
According to official sources, Farooq Afzal, Principal, Postgraduate Medical Institute, Ameer-ud-Din Medical College & Lahore General Hospital, Lahore, has been appointed as the head of the committee.
The panel also includes Syed Asim Ali, General Manager Healthcare Projects at the Infrastructure Development Authority Punjab (IDAP); Dr Zunair Masood, Assistant Professor of Radiology; and a Director of Biomedical and Mechatronic Engineering from UET.
The committee has been tasked with thoroughly reviewing all technical objections raised during the procurement process of the cryoablation machines.
It will assess equipment specifications, compliance standards, and other technical matters to ensure that the purchase meets required healthcare and operational criteria.
