Police colleagues were responsible for shooting dead Organized Crime Unit’s sub-inspector Maratib Jutt and his friend in Muridke on Wednesday, reported 24NewsHD TV channel.
Earlier, it was reported that an officer of Lahore’s Crime Investigation Agency (CIA) was shot dead along with a friend at a bus-stop in Muridke.
Unidentified gunmen riding motorcycles targeted Sub-Inspector Muratib Jutt, deployed at CIA Naulakha Polcie Station in Lahore, and his friend and killed them near Qila Bhattianwala bus-stop in Muridke.
Local police rushed to the crime scene and shifted the dead bodies to a hospital for medico-legal proceedings. They also collected evidence from the crime spot and launched an investigation into the double murder.
Later, police sources confided to 24News TV channel that firing on sub-inspector’s car was carried out by two constables of Badami Bagh police’s investigation branch.
Constables Jamshed and Arsalan were on duty and tried to stop Maratib Jutt’s car who sped away thinking of them as dacoits.
A police went to Muridke to hunt down accused where they saw Maratib was going in his car along with his friend Zakaullah. They opened fire on his car and killed them. After learning that he was also a police officer, they disappeared from the scene.
