Lahore restaurants fined for not installing electronic invoice systems

Punjab Revenue Authority (PRA) has raided restaurants located around Gulberg area of Lahore and imposed heavy fines for not installing electronic invoice monitoring system, reported 24NewsHD TV Channel on Wednesday.  

On the instructions of Commissioner PRA Lahore Misbah Nawaz, the Enforcement Officer conducted raids on restaurants located around Gulberg. 

In the light of the instructions of Commissioner PRA, Enforcement Officer Saud Atiq Khan imposed heavy fines on several restaurants. 

A fine of Rs100,000 each was imposed on 10 restaurants that did not install electronic invoice monitoring systems. 

All the concerned restaurant owners were also given 15 days to submit bank statements and sales records. 

After the stipulated time, the fine will be collected and strict legal action including sealing can be taken later, PRA warned. 

The Punjab Revenue Authority has issued instructions to the teams to take action under the zero-tolerance policy for checking and monitoring of unregistered and electronic invoice systems.
