Minister Sharjeel Memon invites Chinese EV bus manufacturers to invest in Sindh

Sindh Senior Minister Sharjeel Inam Memon met with Chinese Electrical Vehicles (EV) bus manufacturers in Beijing and invited them to invest in Sindh, reported 24NewsHD TV channel on Wednesday.

During meeting. Senior Minister Sharjeel Inam Memon formally invited the Chinese company to set up an EV bus manufacturing plant in Karachi.

Provincial Minister for Energy and Planning and Development, Syed Nasir Hussain Shah also attended the meeting.

Sharjeel Memon said Sindh government assured all possible support to promote green energy and electric mobility.

Sindh government will provide all possible facilities to investors including tax concessions, provision of land and easing the regulatory approval process, Sharjeel Memon said.

He said the government is trying to modernize public transport along with reducing carbon emissions. 

Sharjeel Inam Memon said establishment of an EV bus plant in Karachi will create employment opportunities.

The transition towards a clean and efficient transport system will also be accelerated, Sharjeel Memon said.

Representatives of the Chinese company welcome the invitation of Senior Minister Sharjeel Inam Memon and expressed their interest of investment opportunities in Karachi. 

The Chinese investors assured that a feasibility study will be conducted soon to assess the economic and technical viability of the project.
