British High Commissioner to Pakistan Jane Marriott met PML-N President Nawaz Sharif at Jati Umra on Thursday, according to sources.
Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz was also present at the meeting. Sources said detailed discussions were held on Pakistan-UK relations and other matters of mutual interest at the meeting.
Education, health, climate change and other key issues came under discussion during the meeting. Pakistan expressed its resolve to further expand cooperation with the United Kingdom, sources added.
Speaking on the occasion, Nawaz Sharif said that promoting relations between Pakistan and the UK is the need of the hour. Maryam Nawaz Sharif emphasized that strengthening ties in various fields, including trade and investment, has become inevitable.
Separately, Punjab Assembly Speaker Malik Muhammad Ahmed Khan met Nawaz Sharif. During the meeting, Nawaz Sharif appreciated the legislation carried out in the public interest in the Punjab Assembly, sources said.
