Terrorists blew up main gas pipeline with the help of explosives in the jurisdiction of City Police Station in Lakki Marwat on Thursday, leading to a fire due to the excessive leakage of gas, reported 24NewsHD TV channel.
The explosion was so powerful that it spread panic and fear among the residents in the area.
Local sources told the 24News TV channel that the flames of the fire could be seen from far-off places, while the supply of gas to thousands of households was also suspended.
On Wednesday, terrorists martyred a police recruit constable in Lakki Marwat.
Pakistan has seen a surge in terrorism since the TTP ended its ceasefire deal with the government in November 2022, vowing to increase attacks.
KP and Balochistan are particularly frequent targets.
The constable was killed in the Darga forest in Nasarkhel, near the Sarai Naurang area of Lakki Marwat.
District Police Spokesperson Qudratullah confirmed the incident, saying that the martyred constable had been undergoing training at Hangu Training School.
“On Tuesday night, terrorists abducted him from his house in Nasrkhel and took him to a forest called Darga and shot and killed him there,” he said.
