A former minister of state for water and power, Abid Sher Ali, has been issued an arrest warrant by the Faisalabad Special Anti-Terrorism Court for allegedly threatening to burn the office of a senior police officer, reported 24NewsHD TV channel Thursday.
The court has summoned him to appear on January 11 in the case filed by Adnan Javed, a local resident who accused him of terrorizing and harassing him.
Abid Sher Ali, who is a member of Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) party, has denied the charges and claimed that they are politically motivated.
