Sajjad Mehdi, son of legendary ghazal singer Mehdi Hassan, passed away on Monday after suffering a heart attack.
According to family sources, Sajjad Mehdi was rushed to hospital following the heart attack, where he later succumbed despite medical efforts. He was serving as a Deputy Superintendent of Police (DSP) in the police department and was known for his professional conduct and public service.
The news of his death has been met with deep sorrow by family members, colleagues, and admirers of the late Mehdi Hassan, who remains one of Pakistan’s most celebrated classical singers.
Funeral prayers for Sajjad Mehdi will be offered on Tuesday after Zuhr prayers at PIA Colony. Family members have requested prayers for the departed soul.
