The University of Lahore was shut down on Monday after another student attempted suicide by jumping from the second floor of one of the buildings, reported 24NewsHD TV channel.
Police said that 21-year-old Fatima was studying at D Pharm and she jumped from the building’s second storey and injured.
Nawab Town police immediately rushed to the spot and shifted the seriously wounded girl to a hospital.
Fatima Hussain was a resident of the Narang Mandi area of Sheikhupura.
Later, the management of the University of Lahore announced to close its campus with immediate effect and until further notice, and shifted all the classes online.
The university sources said that the University was closed to strengthen security measures.
Police officials stated that Fatima had enrolled at the university about two and a half to three months ago. Attendance was not an issue, as her presence in classes was recorded at 90 percent.
According to police, both of Fatima’s legs were broken in the incident, however her condition was now out of danger.
Authorities said that more facts will be revealed once she regained consciousness. Her mobile phone has been taken into custody, and investigation was under way based on the phone and other evidence.
Earlier on December 20, 2025, a fifth-semester student at the University of Lahore died after jumping from the fourth floor of a campus building.
The student was enrolled in the Faculty of Pharmacy and was an out-station student from Kamalia residing in a hostel. According to preliminary information, he had been under stress due to ongoing issues at home.
Following the incident, the student remained under medical treatment until 7 pm, when he succumbed to his injuries, despite false reports circulating on social media claiming he was still alive.
Motorist hits man to death at Lahore bridge
A 50-year-old unidentified man breathed his last when a vehicle hit him badly after which from the Flyover Bridge in the Kot Lakhpat area of Lahore.
After receiving the report, police team rushed to the spot and shifted the dead man to the hospital’s mortuary.
The driver of the vehicle escaped from the scene. Police started a search operation to apprehend the driver.
