The Rawalpindi police have concluded the operation to recapture the 14 detainees who escaped from a prison van, a police spokesperson said on Sunday.

The last fugitive, identified as Asad, was arrested on Sunday, bringing the search operation to an end. Police said special teams were formed immediately after the escape and an extensive operation was launched to track down the suspects.

According to the spokesperson, 13 of the 14 fleeing detainees were recaptured within 72 hours of the incident. The arrest of the last remaining fugitive completed the operation.

The police credited the swift success of the operation to the effective planning and strategy of senior officers, stating that all the escaped detainees were apprehended in a short period without any untoward incident.

The spokesperson added that the successful completion of the operation reflects the coordinated efforts and professionalism of the Rawalpindi police in responding promptly to the high-profile escape.
