Israeli National Security Minister Itamar Ben-Gvir has cancelled a planned visit to the United States amid concerns that legal action could be pursued against him during the trip, the 24NewsHD TV channel reported on Sunday.
According to the TV channel report, Ben-Gvir had been scheduled to travel to New York City to attend a United Nations policing conference.
However, the report indicated that the visit was called off following fears that attempts could be made to initiate legal proceedings or seek his detention.
Human rights organisations had announced plans to stage demonstrations during the minister’s visit.
The groups have called for investigations into Ben-Gvir and have urged authorities to examine allegations related to his actions and public statements.
