Case registered against CCD officials for kidnapping citizens for ransom in Muzaffargarh

A case has been registered against Crime Control Department (CCD) officials on charges of kidnapping a citizen for ransom and keeping him in a lockup in Muzaffargarh, reported the 24NewsHD TV channel on Sunday. 

According to CCD sources, a case was registered against five named officials at the CCD police station on the complaint of a citizen who was engaged in the business of used clothes. 

In January 2026, the officials kidnapped two citizens including Abdul Waheed from Ganjanabad Hospital Chowk in Tehsil Jatoi. 

The citizens were shifted to a private jail and a ransom of Rs1,2 million was demanded. 

In case of non-payment of ransom, they were threatened with framing them in false cases and killing them. 

Both citizens were released after receiving a ransom amount of Rs1.2 million.
