Khyber Pakhtunkhawa Chief Minister Sohail Afridi has directed cabinet members and administrative secretaries to outline the provincial government's priorities for the new fiscal year, reported 24NewsHD TV channel.
The chief minister directed all departments to adopt a zero tolerance policy against corruption and made it clear that corrupt and incompetent officers should face indiscriminate action regardless of their position. He said corruption and improper management would not be tolerated at any level.
CM Gandapur said public satisfaction would be the real benchmark for assessing the performance of government departments and added that the best presentation is of no use, if the public is not satisfied.He directed provincial ministers to visit at least seven districts every month, meet the public and ensure the timely resolution of their problems. He also said he would personally review public complaints on a daily basis and warned of strict action against officials if complaints were not addressed in time.
The chief minister instructed every department to establish its own complaint cell and link it with the Chief Minister's Complaint Cell.
He also directed departments to speed up ongoing development projects and ensure the implementation of priority projects.
CM Afridi has directed all provincial departments to complete ongoing development and DFC schemes within the current financial year and set clear timelines for the execution of new development projects.
CM Afridi instructed that all matters referred to the Chief Minister's Secretariat should be resolved within 24 hours. Ali Amin further directed ministers, advisers and administrative secretaries to strengthen mutual coordination, make decisions on merit and transparency and inform the public about government reforms and development projects.
He said the performance of departments would be reviewed again after three months and future rewards or action would be based on the implementation of the directives.
