Federal Minister Shiza Fatima said that amendment to the Telecommunication Act is the need of the hour, reported 24NewsHD TV channel on Sunday.
Speaking in the National Assembly, Shiza Fatima said the prime minister has been asked to conduct an inquiry into the allegations made regarding the bill.
Legislation is being made by consensus, Shaza Fatima said. On the occasion, Federal Law Minister Azam Nazir Tarar said the bill was passed by the assembly with 6 amendments.
He said the committee did not find evidence of the allegation of awarding to any one company. Azam Nazir Tarar said the committee has directed to remove all the flaws in the bill.
Categories will be decided regarding private properties, Azam Nazir Tarar said. The committee's report has been submitted to the Prime Minister, Azam Nazir concluded.
