A devastating road accident on the National Highway near Jamra in Shikarpur claimed the lives of three individuals, including a truck driver, a mechanic, and a labourer, local police confirmed.
According to initial reports, a stationary truck had broken down on the highway due to a technical fault, with mechanics working underneath the vehicle to repair it.
Tragedy struck when another truck, approaching from behind, reportedly lost control and rammed into the immobile truck, resulting in a horrific crash.
Police described the incident as "heartbreaking," highlighting the intensity of the collision.
Among the deceased is Muhammad Ijaz, the truck owner and driver, hailing from Sahiwal. Also killed were mechanic Muhammad Idrees Brohi and labourer Major Sanjrani, both residents of Shikarpur.
Rescue teams rushed to the scene shortly after the accident and transferred the victims’ bodies to a nearby hospital.
