PPP Chairman Bilawal Bhutto Zardari has said that PPP, if elected to power, will restore legal and ownership rights to the people of Gilgit and Baltistan. Bilawal said PPP will work for enhancing trade potential between China and Giligit-Baltistan, adding that President Zardari was making all out efforts in this regard, reported 24NewsHD TV Channel.
Addressing an election campaign in Gilgit on Friday, Bilawal said that PPP will took radical measures to enhance connectivity in the each village and district of GB. He said that if fiber optic link was not possible with China then PPP would try to bring Starlink internet for the region.
He urged the people of GB to give the PPP a heavy mandate, so the party could continue its struggle to secure the region’s ownership rights, calling on them to spread his message.
Bilawal said legislation on the matter had been tabled in the Gilgit-Baltistan Assembly and had been passed by the house. “As per the legislation, 28,000 square miles of land owned by the government has been converted into common land. We have fulfilled our promise to this stage,” the PPP chairman said.
Bilawal added that the legislation should now be implemented. “I request the people of Gilgit-Baltistan that this time I need a heavy majority,” he said, warning that if any party other than the PPP came into power, it would “tear this legislation apart”.
Bilawal said that if PPP Chief Minister is elected then PPP would enhance coverage of BISP to each and every city in the GB. He said that PPP will take radical steps for brining improvement in health infrastructure as PPP government did in Sindh province. He said free treatment will be provided to the people of GB across Sindh province. Bilawal urged the people of entire GB to come out on election day and made PPP lawmaker successful.
