The International Council for Harmonization (ICH) nominated the Drug Regulatory Authority of Pakistan (DRAP) as its “observer” status, reported 24NewsHD TV channel on Friday.
The decision was taken during a meeting of the International Council for Harmonization, which was held in Rio de Janeiro from June 2-3.
A spokesman of the Ministry of Health said that Federal Minister for Health, Mustafa Syed Kamal congratulated DRAP for achieving this milestone.
He said that it is a historical movement that ICH nominated DRAP as “representative”.
Mustafa Kamal said that ICH is an international forum who ensured quality and safety of medicines.
The federal minister hoped that this milestone would play a key role for imporving regulatory system in Pakistan.
Syed Mustafa Kamal said that the move will further improve confidence in the pharmaceutical system of DRAP.
