The federal government is expected to reduce petrol prices by Rs4, a source in the Petroleum Division said on Friday.
However, the price of diesel is likely to remain the same. After price cut, the petrol price is likely to reach Rs 376 per liter. New prices to come into effect from 12 midnight.
The federal government was announcing relief for the masses on the fourth consecutive week.
Petrol is mostly used in private transport, small vehicles, rickshaws and two-wheelers and has a direct bearing on the budget of the middle and lower-middle class.
High-speed diesel is mainly used in the heavy transport sector and for large generators.
