Customs intelligence launched a major operation at Lahore Airport, seizing cash, medicines, and saffron worth crores of rupees from passengers arriving on various international flights.
According to sources, Customs Collector Tayyaba Kayani led the operation based on intelligence reports, targeting flights from Jeddah, Dubai, and Saudi Arabia.
The operation resulted in the confiscation of a large quantity of medicines and saffron, which were being smuggled into Pakistan.
The enforcement team, led by Deputy Collector Mudassar Raqeeq, along with Superintendent Saeed Randhawa, Inspector Faheem, Inspector Aamir, Sepoy Sqlin, Faiqa Younis, and Lady Sepoy, carried out the raids on Pakistan International Airlines (PIA) flight PK-860 from Jeddah, flight PK-411 from Dubai, and Saudi Airlines flight SV-734.
Authorities estimate the total value of the seized items to be in crores, and further investigations into the accused individuals are currently underway.
