Karachi’s city administration has intensified its crackdown on profiteers during Ramazan and arrested several besides imposition of fines, reported 24NewsHD TV Channel.
On the fourth day of Ramazan, 144 profiteers were fined a total of Rs27.16 million. Additionally, four traders were arrested and five shops were sealed for overcharging.
In the last four days, the authorities imposed fines amounting to Rs127.56 million, arrested 64 violators, and sealed 47 shops.
Deputy Commissioners Syed Hasan Naqvi has directed the concerned officers to continue strict action against profiteers and ensure relief for citizens. He also urged the public to report overpricing, assuring immediate action.
