In a tragic incident, four children were burnt alive and a woman received serious burn wounds when a massive fire gutted their tent house located in Bahawalpur on Wednesday, reported 24NewsHD TV channel.
According to details, the family members settled in Bahawalpur after migrating from Umer Kot area of Rojhan for daily-wage labour work.
A massive fire erupted which engulfed their entire tent, killing four children aged between four and five years.
The blaze also reduced all belongings of the family into ashes.
Heirs of the family appealed Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz to take immediate action and provide necessary and timely assistance to the poor family.
Soon after receiving the report of the incident, Rescue 1122 team reached the spot and shifted the dead bodies of children to local hospital.
Sources further revealed that injured woman was in critical condition till the filing of this report.
Earlier, on February 3, 2025, a man was burnt alive after a massive fire erupted in a room adjacent to the Shrine of Jalaluddin Surkh-Posh Bukhari.
The deceased was later identified as Munawwar. Police shifted the body to a hospital for an autopsy.
