Reality TV star Khloe Kardashian has revealed she is considering the possibility of having a third child, even if that means doing it alone, as she reflected on motherhood, past relationship trauma, and life after her split from Tristan Thompson.
The 41 year old media personality opened up about the idea during a recent episode of her podcast Khloe in Wonder Land, where she responded to a fan question about whether she would want more children if she met her soulmate.
Kardashian shares two children with Thompson, daughter True, who is set to turn eight in April, and three year old son Tatum.
While she said she would ideally prefer to expand her family within marriage, she admitted that she has also thought about having another child on her own.
“Never say never,” Kardashian said, explaining that she still has embryos frozen and could consider using a surrogate again.
However, she confessed she is unsure whether she has the emotional energy to go through the process once more.
The Good American founder revealed that the idea has crossed her mind mainly because she believes siblings are important.
She noted that she sometimes thinks about giving her children more brothers or sisters, particularly sisters.
Despite the possibility, Kardashian acknowledged that the emotional impact of her past relationship continues to weigh on her decisions.
Her romance with Thompson was rocked by multiple cheating scandals. In 2018, reports of his infidelity surfaced just days before Kardashian gave birth to their daughter True.
The situation worsened years later when the NBA player admitted to fathering a child with another woman while a surrogate was carrying their son Tatum.
Because of that experience, Kardashian said a future surrogacy journey would likely feel very different.
She explained that during Tatum’s pregnancy, the circumstances surrounding Thompson’s betrayal made the experience emotionally difficult.
If she ever pursued surrogacy again, she believes she would be able to focus more positively on the process.
Kardashian also acknowledged the uncertainty of fertility treatments, saying that even if she attempted to implant an embryo, there is no guarantee the pregnancy would happen.
The reality star has remained single since ending her relationship with Thompson for the final time in 2022.
Elsewhere in the podcast episode, Kardashian spoke candidly about the challenges of co-parenting with her ex.
She admitted that one of the most difficult parts is having to consult another parent about decisions regarding their children.
However, she noted that Thompson trusts her parenting decisions and remains a committed father to their kids.
Looking back on earlier moments in their parenting journey, Kardashian even recalled a disagreement over baby names.
Thompson once suggested naming their daughter Khaleesi, inspired by Daenerys Targaryen from Game of Thrones, but Kardashian quickly rejected the idea.
For now, Kardashian says the thought of having another child remains just that a thought but it is something she continues to contemplate as she navigates motherhood and life after heartbreak.
