The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) has taken serious notice of what it described as baseless and fake news aired by ARY News regarding a Pakistani left-arm fast bowler.
In a statement, the cricket board strongly condemned the broadcast of what it termed unverified and misleading information, calling the act malicious and irresponsible.
The PCB said it reserves the right to take appropriate action against those involved in spreading false news.
In a post on social media, the board stated that agenda-driven fake news targeting the character of its players was unacceptable and would not be tolerated.
The PCB further demanded that the reporter involved issue a public apology without delay, warning that failure to do so would compel the board to take all necessary steps to address the matter and prevent such conduct in the future.
