Jamiat Ulema-e-Islam (JUI) President Maulana Fazlur Rehman on Monday walked out of the National Assembly session, which was meant to discuss the national security situation against the backdrop of threats of misadventurism from India.

Boycotting the session, Fazl said the session was convened to discuss a critical situation, but no responsible functionary from the ruling coalition was present in the house. He said that nobody appeared to be serious even at this critical time and the government was completely insensitive to the situation.

Fazl said that he and his party lawmakers came to the assembly in high spirits, but they were disappointed as there was nobody present in the house to listen to them. He said he wanted to leave and then he left along with other lawmakers of his party.
